East Penn Mfg. Co. (the manufacturer of Deka Batteries and Accessories), is seeking an Industrial Service Technician to reside in the Ashland, VA area. Candidate is required to hold a good driving record as well as strong communication skills. Applicants should possess a basic electrical/ mechanical background and must be able to understand and use a basic multi-meter. Limited overnight travel will be required. The applicant must be able to work alone and be a self-starter.

Desirable skills include:

• Basic electrical/electronic experience with 120 volt 1-Phase to 480 volt 3-Phase AC Voltage
• Knowledge of AC to DC rectification
• Capable of understanding basic schematics
• Basic mechanical experience
• Taking battery voltage and gravity readings
• Understanding how a lead acid battery works
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.

The preceding skills are not mandatory but would be an asset.
